  • Q How can I use SK telecom rental services?

  • You can rent a phone instantly by visiting SKT roaming center located at airport. See the “Roaming Center” page for location details.For rental service, please bring your ID (passport) and credit card (your own name). Service fees will be settled when the phone is returned. Credit card is mandatory for phone rental process.(Check card not acceptable)

  • Note: In that case, no benefits will be provided. In order to get additional benefits, please make a reservation before use. You can make a reservation not later than one day before.

  • Q Any limitation on the number of rental devices and service period?

  • No limitation on the number of rental devices For long-term use, however, automatic payment will be made with your deposit card every 15 days.

  • Q I’d like to use different locations for device pick-up and return. Can I still use the service?

  • Rental devices can be returned and paid for at each airport and roaming branch.

  • Q How should I make payment for the service?

  • You can make payment with cash (in Korea) or credit card upon the return of device. For long-term use over 15 days, you will make payment for the remaining period excluding the first 15 days.

  • Q I’d like to use a mobile phone that can be serviced in Korea. What kind of mobile phones may I use there?

  • You may use a smartphone (Galaxy Note 5, iPhone 4) or feature phone.

  • Q What about the service charges?

  • They are composed of rental and calling charges. For general customers, daily rental charges are KRW 3,300. If you make a reservation via our website in advance, daily rental charges are KRW 1,650 for the first rental and KRW 1,100 for the second rental onward. For calling charges, local calls will be charged KRW 11 per second and international calls will be charged by minute according to the international calling rate which may differ from country to country.

  • Q What kind of additional services are available?

  • There are no charges for receiving caller ID and local/international SMS; They are provided for free. Local texting will be charged KRW 100 per SMS, KRW 100 per Text MMS, and KRW 1,000 per multimedia (photo & video) (up to 3 photos & 1GB video can be attached). Currently no services are available for sending international SMS.

  • Q What should I do if a mobile phone is broken or lost?

  • You should contact the rental service center at 1599-2011 immediately. In case of breakdown, the phone will be replaced after simple tests are conducted. A lost phone will be suspended immediately. If you do not report a lost phone immediately, the phone could be used by others and you could be charged as a result. If a mobile phone is damaged, damage fees will be paid for.

  • Q Can I get contacts and photos saved in the rental phone transferred later?

  • For personal data protection, all rental phones will be initialized as soon as they are returned. If you need any information stored in the rental phone, please make sure you save them personally prior to the device return.

  • In general, you just need to turn it on and enter the password (written on device) for use.

  • You will get unlimited data. (But, if daily use exceeds 1GB, the speed can be limited.)

  • Up to 10 devices are accessible but 3 are recommended. (Battery and daily data can be consumed quickly)
