| Opening a new era of analog mobile phones for the first time
in Korea, SK Telecom successfully commercialized CDMA, 2.5G
CDMA 2000 1X and 3G Synchronous IMT-2000 (CDMA 2000 1x EV-DO)
for the first time in the world. Taking the recent initiative
to spread wireless Internet service, SK Telecom has grown into
a leader of Korean IT industry. Now SK telecom is opening a
new chapter based on the new growth engine of convergence service
and overseas projects.
SK Telecom has been upgrading its business based on wireless
Internet business, including Melon, GXG, Mobile Cyworld and
1mm. At the same time, it has been taking the lead in convergence
services, such as satellite DMB, Telematics, Digital Home
and M-Finance in order to prepare the convergence of telecommunication,
broadcasting, financial and entertainment industries. In addition,
as part of efforts to enhance its wireless Internet business,
we are sharpening our competitive edge in contents business
without stopping.
SK Telecom was not satisfied with taking the lead in the
domestic market and has successfully penetrated overseas markets,
such as Vietnam and China. From the 2nd half of 2005, it is
planning to show more advanced technology through MVNO projects
in the United States. In the years to come, SK Telecom will
exercise the outstanding capabilities of the Korean IT industry
in the global village, by actively launching into new overseas
markets.
SK Telecom is actively implementing transparent and ethical
management, as well as seeking SKMS, SUPEX and new value management
in a drive to earn customer trust and sustainable growth.
Diverse convergence services of SK Telecom will bring a more
prosperous and convenient future closer and change customers
into the main players of the ubiquitous era.
